Payment is possible on site at pick-up, either in cash or by bank card.
The specific car model is not guaranteed – but the category is.
When booking, you always choose a car category (for example, “Economy manual” or “Compact automatic”), not a specific make or model. The model shown on the rental company’s website is only an example – the actual car may be any vehicle of similar size and features within that category.
RentX always guarantees the same or a higher category. If the selected type is not available at pick-up, you will receive a car from at least the same or a better category at no extra cost.
No, you do not need either a credit card or a deposit to rent a car.

However, it is important to know that during high season it is worth booking in advance, so you can secure a better price and availability.
In our experience, it is best to book a car 1–3 months before your trip.
If you try to book too early (6–12 months in advance), that period is often not yet priced, so the prices may be higher.
In Madeira, booking early is especially worth it: small-category cars are already available from €33, with full insurance and no deposit.
