Car Rental Madeira Airport Guides: From Booking to Drop-Off
RESERVATION
To open the RentX website, click on the “‘Book now” button.
- Select the location and the rental period, then click on the “Search” button.
Select a car and package:
- The cars are not sorted in ascending order by price, so scroll through.
- Select the car you want and the “Rent with insurance” package, which includes:
- Free cancellation
- Full insurance
- No excess
- 24h roadside assistance
- Unlimited mileage
Extras:
- You have the option to add extra services to your booking, such as a child seat.
- Click the ‘Checkout‘ button to continue.
Contact information:
- In the pop-up window, enter the required details and then click the “Proceed with payment” button.
Review & Payment options:
- Choose when to pay: now or at vehicle collection.
- Enter the VAMOS10 coupon code for a 10% discount.
- If you choose to pay now, it cannot be combined with other discounts, and you won’t get 15%. However, if you enter the VAMOS10 discount code after selecting ‘Pay Now,’ you will receive 10% off.
- To finalize your booking, click the ‘Confirm Reservation‘ button.
Booking Confirmation:
- Finally, check your email inbox for your booking confirmation.
ONLINE CHECK-IN
Open the RentX website and click the “Online Check-in” button, or open the link received in the email.
Enter your name and the booking code received in the confirmation email, then click the “Submit” button.
On the next page, enter your details and upload the required documents:
- Personal Data
- Driver’s License (upload both the front and back sides)
- Identification Card or Passport (upload both the front and back sides if applicable)
- Flight Number
- Arrival Time
Once you have provided all the required information, click the “Check-in” button at the bottom of the page.

Refueling Before Return (full-full fuel policy)
- The closest gas station to the Rentx office is Machico Galp.
- To find it easily, simply search for “Machico Galp” on Google Maps and follow the directions.
Returning the Car
- Return the car to the same location where you picked it up.
- The exact drop-off location is included in your rental contract.
- You can also search for “Machico Rentx” on Google Maps to find the correct location.
Drop-Off Process
- After refueling, drive to the Rentx office and park in an available space in front of the building.
- A Rentx staff member will collect the car keys from you.
- You must present the receipt from your last refueling.
- The staff will do a quick fuel level check before finalizing your booking.
Airport Transfer
- Once the return process is complete, the shuttle bus will take you back to the airport.
Keep the receipt of the last refuel, as you will need to show it!
RESERVATION CANCELLATION
You can cancel or modify your booking free of charge. Simply send an email to bookings@rentx.com stating your intention to cancel your reservation.
- Up to 7 (seven) days before collection of the Leased, the Lessor will refund the full amount paid, excluding any associated fees;
- Up to 4 (four) days prior to collection of the Leased, the Lessor will refund half of the amount paid, excluding any associated fees;
- In the event of cancellations 3 (three) days or less in advance, the Lessor will not refund the amounts paid.

Park the car in any available space in the P0 parking lot.
Key & Ticket Storage
Place the car key and the parking ticket inside the glove compartment.
Final Step
Once you’ve parked the car and placed the key and ticket inside the glove compartment,
send a WhatsApp message to Madlobos letting them know the car has been returned to P0 parking.
To help them find the vehicle more easily, send a photo showing the car’s exact location.

You can cancel your booking free of charge up to 24 hours before your scheduled pick-up time.

PICK-UP
Contact Rent-A-Car Madeira upon arrival
- Send a WhatsApp message to +351 936 716 627.
- Let them know you have arrived and are ready to pick up the car.
Identify your rental car
- The Rent-A-Car Madeira team will send you a picture of your car via WhatsApp.
- Your car is parked in the P0 parking lot, which is the parking area on the left when exiting the airport.
Pick up the car at P0 parking
- Exit the airport and walk towards the P0 parking lot, located to the left of the exit.
- Use the picture sent via WhatsApp to easily find your rental car.
Sign the rental agreement and make payment
- Once you find the car, you will need to sign the rental contract.
- Payment can be made in cash or by credit/debit card on the spot.

- You must leave the car at the P7 Low Cost parking lot at Madeira Airport.

Parking the car
- Upon arrival at the P7 parking lot, park the car in any available space.
Key & Ticket Storage
- Place the car key and the parking ticket inside the glove compartment.
- Then send a message via WhatsApp to Rentacar Madeira letting them know you left the car in the parking lot, and attach a photo to help them find it more easily.
Heading to the terminal
- To reach the terminal, use the stairs located in the right corner of the parking lot.
